The education initiatives through targeted scholarships have so far assisted over 2,000 people to receive specialized training both in Uganda and the UK. The community development program trains farmers in sustainable organic agriculture concepts and practices, enabling them to provide for themselves via the acquisition of knowledge and skills. Both projects aim to transform the livelihoods of the most vulnerable.
Open University with the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (1999–to-date)
These scholarships are for a distance-learning course, M.Sc. in Development Management, targeting people from Kenya and Uganda who continue to work as they study. The scholars come from NGOs, the commercial sector, and the government service (development-related institutions) (development-related organizations). Over 100 scholars have benefited from this program, and there are presently 47 scholars on the course, including 16 who have been selected to join the course in November this year.
The Chevening Scholarship Scheme (1998–2008)
This plan was created in 1998. Ugandan students were recruited every year to study at the University of Leeds. It was a scholarship jointly sponsored by; Kulika, the University of Leeds, and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO), with each partner meeting one third of the overall scholarship fee. In the 2007/08 academic year, the entire cost (tuition, monthly stipend, arrival allowance, and return flight) per student was £22,000. Kulika picked competent scholars based on an agreed-upon formal scholarship selection criteria. An average of five (5) beneficiaries for this scholarship were selected each year. This scholarship provided exceptional training in fields vital for growth in Uganda at the master’s degree level (MA, MBA, or M.Sc.) that were not available in their expert form in Uganda. They included;Transport Planning, Construction management and engineering, Business administration and financial courses, development studies communications
Kulika liaised with the University of Leeds to follow up on the beneficiaries till the end of their study and retain contact with the students after their graduation and return to Uganda. Kulika’s contact individuals at the FCO were Andrew Jones and J. Y. Findlay (Senior Assistant Registrar, Research Degrees & Scholarships Office) (Senior Assistant Registrar, Research Degrees & Scholarships Office). Since the commencement of the scholarship program till its discontinuation in 2008, 30 Ugandan scholars have benefited from it. The collaboration scholarship scheme ceased in 2008. At this time, Kulika modified the scholarship approach to sponsoring degree programs in Uganda.
Vitol Foundation (2013–2015)
The charity is financing 34 students in technical and vocational training schools in Uganda. Kulika is responsible for selecting the scholars, managing their scholarships, following up with the scholars and the institutions, and submitting regular updates to the foundation.
T & J. Meyer Foundation Scholarships (2009 – 2011)
The fund financed 8 students in technical and specialized studies at diploma level in Uganda-based universities. Kulika was responsible for selecting the scholars, managing the scholarship, following up with the scholars, and keeping the foundation updated on their progress through frequent reports.
Manchester University (2007–2009)
There were 20 scholars who studied in the UK on this scholarship. These were postgraduate scholarships in several subjects supported by the university itself, and Kulika oversaw them. Kulika was responsible for promoting the scholarships, selecting scholars, and performing some preparation for the studies.
CENTURY BOTTLING COMPANY- KULIKA UGANDA SPECIFIED SCHOLARSHIPS(2006-2007)

Together with Kulika Uganda, a premier education support non-profit organization, we developed the Specified Scholarships. Through the scholarships, the program is committed to giving practical skills training to qualified Ugandan youngsters so they may contribute to society. Century Bottling Company and Kulika Uganda welcome applications for a limited number of scholarships for the school year 2006-2007. The grants are for diplomas in technical and vocational courses alone. The areas of study to be sponsored are limited to: construction and civil engineering, electrical installation, mechanical engineering, refrigeration and air conditioning, carpentry and joinery, motor vehicle mechanics, and plumbing.
